With the development of science and technology, the requirements of society for environmental protection, energy conservation and the demand for sustainable development are increasing day by day. Those are the reasons why smart grid came into being. Therefore, there is need for further research on smart distribution grid. Under the framework of smart grid, how to evaluate investment rationally and to obtain the maximum profit with minimal investment in network planning is an urgent issue that needs addressing in the new situation.Establishing a new index system of economic evaluation associated with smart distribution network; to deal with the insufficiency of the existing economic evaluation method, including financial indicators considering LCC, benefit indicators as well as indicators on DG. Using LCC method, to divide the distribution network into equipment level and system level and to establish model of LCC respectively; calculating EENS to integrate the reliability effect into the LCC model; using the results of LCC to calculate financial indicators values and analyzing the uncertainty elements influence; studying the load transferring of lines and power supply capacity; analyzing the lines economic load rate; considering the environment benefit and the reduction of system loss of DG. Using the entropy- AHP, to establish hierarchy and determine the weights of indicators in the evaluation system which is proposed in this paper; applying the evaluation system to a real smart distribution network planning and obtaining the economic results eventually.
