As the development of power grid, the problem of traditional power reliability management is gradually emerging while the low data quality, shallow data analysis, and small scale using of data analysis result are becoming increasingly prominent. The role of reliability management in the supervision and guidance of power grid development decision-making is gradually weakened, so it greatly restricts the development of the reliability major. Since 2013, as the full building of "three sets of five" system, the State Grid Corporation is committed to build a Life Cycle Asset Management system which is advanced in the world, and it brings new challenges to traditional reliability management. Taking the construction and application of assets life cycle management system as opportunities, research on reliability management under the new situation is the inevitable demand of State Grid to become "a strong three excellent" company.Based on Life Cycle Asset Management architecture and the information management system, distribution network reliability in the system of Life cycle asset management is studied in this paper. The distribution network reliability and investment dates of pilot companies over the years are widely collected, trend analysis and curve fitting method is used to analyze reliability index and investment, and to derive reliability investment-cost proportion and composite customer damage function.Using cost-benefit analysis method, cost and benefit of the distribution line investment are analyzed and calculated. Based on the data analysis, the investmentreliability evaluation model is build and it will provide dates support for the decisionmaking of the investment on reliability in pilot companies. This paper will also promote the change of decision-making mode from "Index driving" to "economy drives" while the power supplies reliability management improving.
