But in drawing expression, the graphics changes, and graphics information value, there still exist a number of disadvantages.With the increasing development of modern drawings, BIM as a new concept come into being, which opened new doors for biulding drawings by its advanced technology such as powerful database function, standardized way in modeling and comprehensive management to model . In recent years, BIM has been applied in designing and constructing of many modern buildings. Not only that, some projects have began to use it in designing and constructing of pseudo-classic a rchitectures.Chinese ancient building de sign focuses on t he detail construction, which the form of building elements is classified orderly and the size of building elements follows the law of modularsystem. And BIM owns perfect database function and family function of which the building form of searching constrain and building the relationship of constrain and building element's shape can match the structure feature of ancient building well. The structure characteristic of the ancient building and the technical support of BIM make the combination of ancient building and BIM possible.Based on these, this text puts forward a goal to build a theory frame of the ancient building information modeling, and discusses the main body of the framework by the instance of survey.influence between building information modeling and the process of survey bring some features w hich are d ifferent from tra ditional survey.This te xt introduce th e ancient building information modeling form four respects including model element which is highlighted as the main body of the information modeling, comment symbol element, views element and database. The text also displayed the parametric realized in this modeling and discussed how to realize the parametric, the difficulty to realize the parametric and t he unaccomplished matter. The most important feature of t he ancient bui lding i nformation m odeling is the information m anagement. When t he building information is transcript, it enters into a rigorous management system, where the classification, integration and inquires of information can work in an orderly way. With this powerful information management function, the ancient building modeling brings d rawn t o t he protection a nd research of ancient bui lding. A nd the popularization and perfection of the modeling will bring rapid development for the work above. However, f or my ability is lim ited, the ancient building i nformation modeling which I researched is still a prototype. E stablishing a perfect ancient building i nformation m odeling system also needs further r esearch of ancient architecture professionals and scholars and sp ecialized t echnical supports fro m software departments. I believe that the prospect of the ancient building information modeling is bright.
