This paper studies on the application of the network pressure-superposed water supply technology in the reconstruction of the secondary water supply system. With related research results on the secondary water supply system facilities and the quality of water, it has been found that the existence of the adjusting structures in the traditional secondary water supply method is the major cause of the secondary pollution, which suggests the necessity of secondary water supply systems reconstruction. Apart from the secondary pollution, the existence of the underground reservoirs stops the residual pressure of the municipal pipe network from being used, which is a huge waste of energy. But in the network pressure-superposed water supply system, neither the underground reservoirs nor the roof tank is needed; therefore, this sanitary and energy-saving technology should be the prior application in the reconstuction of secondary water supply systems.Through detailed analysis of pressure-superposed water supply technology, this paper also points out some drawbacks of the technology that ought to be refined and improved, such as pump operating inefficiency. It analyzes the properties of the pumps and according to the distribution and regularity of the pump's operating points in the pressure-superposed water supply systems, sorts out the lectotype optimization of the pumps that can be applied to two parallel pumps system as well as the single pump system. Finally, the computational method and the range of the technical parameters of high pumping efficiency are also provided.In engineering practice, pump optimization selecting is quite difficult to perform because the required manual computations are both time-consuming and lengthy. Since Excel shows its versatility in different professions, hence, by writing Excel VBA program, the above problems could be solved by automation. This has certain practical significance as it ensures the pump to work in a high efficient manner.
