A design study on remote vechicle-mounted monitoring system for storage liquid temperature and geography position information of tank train have been finished in this paper. The main contents include three parts which are development of locomotive On-board device, implementation of virtual IP-based GPRS wireless network data communication and software design of remote data monitoring center.On-board device takes advanced-ARM processor as core, acquisition and transmission storage liquid temperature and GPS satellite positioning data is finished by integration temperature sensor and GPS receiver that is stable performance and GPRS wireless data emission equipment. Use virtual IP technology to build and complete systematic wireless data communication link as well as achieve wireless transmission from vehicle information to remote data monitoring center. Data monitoring center apply Windows Sockets Programming based on TCP/IP protocol to receive remote vehicle monitoring information, with the local Access database management system and MFC designing and completing man-machine interface which is used to display and operate local data. This study also use MapInfo 9.5 software platform and Qt graphical interfaces development tool design and complete dynamic operation electronic map which can help remote data monitoring center achieve real-time tracking for tank truck move location.This system has passed hardware and software test, and can be run successfully, achieve the desired design requirements.
