Product variant design is a method which can meet individual needs and achieve innovative design by changing the original structure of the variational base model. This paper studies the structural transplantation technology of variant design, proposes parts structure division and transfer structure extraction method, structure transplantation method based on the position and orientation of the graft surface and the transplant structure constraint method of reconstruction based on design structure matrix, and also develops a part variation structure transplantation module based on Pro/E, gives out the instances of its application in injection molding machines and CNC equipment design.Chapter I introduces the current variant design and related technology development status, analyzes the existing problems in related technologies, given,the significance of this study and research, introducing the organizational structure of this paper in the end.Chapter II studies part structures division and transplant structures extraction, first making the product structure more comprehensive by function-structure mapping, virtual deviding and restructuring to achieve the feasibility of understanding of separation of structural units. Then use the bounding box to determine the different structural units of the boundary, splits transplant structure can be separated using the split ring, unbinds the original structure constraints.Chapter III studies the overlapping transplantation method of structures, defines or creates different faying surfaces to adapt varies structures, achieved the goal of geometry topology lapping that overlapping geometric reference surface and the auxiliary coordinate system with the local coordinate system of pre-generated variation-based model, the standardized form improves the variation efficiency.Chapter IV studies the method of the structures constrainton reconstruction on Design Structure Matrix (DSM). Design structure matrix (DSM) can be extracted from constraint relations between structures, to transform the DSM by adjusting the growing relationship and constraint of structures, and finally to guide variant design.Chapter V introduces variant design module of CNC equipment and injection molding machine complex parts, the module as an important part of the two projects, achieved the basic idea of variation design and greatly improved the efficiency of the design staff in solving practical problems encountered in rapid design reuse.Chapter VI summarizes the results and characteristics of this paper, as well as the effect of variat transplantation module based of 3D modeling software and its secondary development tools, makes a prospect of further research work in the end.
