As the core of modern bulk materials handling systems, Bucket Wheel Stacker-Reclaimer is widely used in metallurgy, mining, coal, power stations and port. With the bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer to be more and more intelligent, its control methods is ever-changing.In this paper, aiming at Bucket Wheel Stacker-Reclaimer's equivalent techno-logy, analysis and research on traditional 1/cosa speed control algorithm and its common point of reference is done. After that, the bias of productivity is proved by calculating. On this base, contour speed algorithm which is more in line with actual production is provided, makes better use of for contour producti- vity.After control analysis of the cantilever bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer is done,the control method of whole machine is made, by using popular current profibus fieldbus technology, siemens S7-300 PLC, and the application of responsible master-slave PLC control technology.Master station unit is used for sensor data collection under rotary cars, while slave station unit is used for sensor data collection above rotary cars.Finally, hardware configuration is done and bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer's control system is established upon PLC method. As S7-300 PLC has a modular structure, the detailed distribution of the master-slave PLC module addresses is done.Boom slewing mechanism, which has a direct impact on the operating efficie-ncy is consis of S7-300 PLC, SIMOVERT 6SE70 inverter, FM350-2 counter template, encoder, and photoelectrica.It makes contour speed algorithm and stepless speed regulation into reality. Automated reclaiming operation depends on the order of work and the regul-ation control loop of material flow control system, this paper take these two major factors for analysis and focus on material flow control system, and make sure framework to meet the requirements of material flow control system.Two kinds of stacker operations and a reclaimer operation are taken for flow analysis, and use the software programming STEP7 selective process for PLC programming and PLC-SIM. Finally, Bucket Wheel Stacker-Reclaimer can be op-erated automate.
