Our country's large scale of economic construction projects make the use ofhoisting machinery and the range of its application expanded. Hoistingmachinery is a high risk of working equipment, once accident happened, it willcause great loss and pain. Safety issues on lifting equipment have caught greatattention from the government and society. Many scholars have devotedthemselves to study the technology of safety evaluation which find that thestatus of the equipment can be assessed advanced to reduce and avoid accidents.The research on safety evaluation method is starting late in our country,especially on the method of professional mechanical equipment. Often expertsor inspectors analyze and detect the equipment qualitatively to judge the safetycondition. This process needs a long time, and the evaluation is quitecomplicated. It is difficult to find out the danger factors in time and theevaluation result is somewhat subjectively which is depending on the expert'sknowledge and experience.In view of the above situation, slewing mechanism is chosen as the researchobject to study with the method of fuzzy FTA and fuzzy synthetic evaluation.First of all, after familiar with rotary system's composition and workingprinciple, possible failure of the main parts of the system are specified and faulttree is established. Then fuzzy theory is introduced to solve the problem when itis unable to get the probability of bottom events, and fuzzy probability of bottomevents are obtained by expert judgment method. Because the fault tree analysismethod is difficult to consider factors comprehensively, such as human factorsand environment factors. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is chosenagain to evaluate slewing mechanism safety condition. Safety evaluation indexmodel is established, the whole system's safety condition is evaluatedquantitatively, and finally safety rating level and its score are given. Accordingto the evaluation results, effective measures can be taken by enterprise toprevent accidents. Finally on the basis of fuzzy comprehensive evaluationmethod and using VC++for development platform, combined with a powerful database storage capacity of Access, slewing mechanism safety evaluationsystem is developed.Through the examples, it is found that evaluation results and the sceneanalysis are basically the same and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation modelset up in the paper is correct. The evaluation system is agreeable and operational,it is providing a feasible evaluation method and means for hoisting equipment.
