Study On Ecosystem Service Functions And Ecological Values Of Off-islands Of Qingdao

Ecological environment is damaged seriously with the development of technology and the improvement of productivity. People's understanding of ecosystem is deepening, so more and more attention has been paid on ecosystem services. Ecosystem services refer to the natural environment necessary for human survival and its utility, which formed and maintained by ecological systems and ecological processes. It includes supply services, regulating services, cultural services and support services.Islands and their surroundings are rich in natural resources. Fishing and aquaculture industries can be developed around the surrounding beaches and the coastal waters. Those can not only bring huge economic benefits, but also provide plenty of employment. Although islands are far from the mainland, they determine the countries' internal waters, territorial sea and the location and extent of exclusive economic zones, and they also have decisive significance on identification and safeguarding national sovereignty and maritime rights. Therefore, islands have very important significance on national economy, social life and national defense.For the purpose of protecting islands and their surroundings ecosystems, exploiting their natural resources reasonably, protecting national maritime rights and interests, NPC Standing Committee has voted "The People's Republic of China Law on Islands Protection" on December 26, 2009. National legislation aimed protecting islands' resources and recommending exploiting islands reasonably.Therefore, island ecosystem service and its evaluation are worthy of study. In this paper, we studied islands ecosystem services and ecological values of Qingdao coastal. The research relied on 908 Special of Shandong Province - Islands research project. Sampling methods: Using Line survey, combined with sampling sites survey, we Investigated vegetation types and their distribution on the islands. We collected samples of vegetation with grids that is common used in ground vegetation investigations. Sampling sites is designed on the basis of technical requirements under the 908 Special project. So did the samples collection of the intertidal zone and the investigation of the species composition and quantitative distribution. We analyzed the land use pattern of the islands under field survey combined with satellite remote sensing data.According to the survey data and the information collected, we analyzed and evaluated the value of vegetation carbon sequestration and oxygen, the value of the intertidal organism and the tourism value of cultural landscapes of Lingshan island.(1) The value of vegetation carbon sequestration and oxygen : According to the formula of photosynthesis, every 1g accumulation of C₆H₍120O₆, 1.47g CO₂ will be fixed, 1.07g O₂ will be released. Carbon sequestration value = vegetation primary production×price of carbon sequestration. Oxygen value = vegetation primary production×price of oxygen. The value of vegetation carbon sequestration is 542,199.86 yuan, oxygen is 451,832.89 yuan. The total value of carbon sequestration and oxygen of Lingshan island vegetation is 994,032.75 yuan.(2) The use pattern and biological value of Intertidal zone of Lingshan Island:According to the sample, we analysis samples of the type, number and distribution of biological. Intertidal zone of Lingshan Island include gravel intertidal zone 0.36km² and aquatic breeding areas 0.045 km². Species are few in gravel intertidal zone. There are almost no biological in high and middle zone. It is used to place fishing boats, fishing nets and dry goods. The marine water of aquatic breeding area is industrial pollution-free and suitable for aquaculture. The main varieties is marine fish, shrimp, sea cucumber, abalone, shellfish, etc. The second survey in June 2009 finds barnacles, mussels, oysters and a small amount of algae etc. It sets 9 stations to collect samples and estimate the average biomass.(3) Natural and cultural landscapes in the Tourism Value: The market value method is used to say the cultural landscape of the value of travel services. Lingshan Island makes a total of 30,000 tourists into the island tourism and leisure, tourism income comes to more than 300 million in 2004.
