| China has a long history and rich experience in cotton plant, and cotton is a traditional cash crop, the early 90s of last century cotton bollworm sustained outbreak in most cotton district, which has caused great loss to cotton production. In order to reduce the lost of this disaster, China begin to promote cultivation of genetically modified cotton since 1997So far Bt cotton has planted in China more than ten years, cotton planted in the Yellow River and Yangtze River are both transgenic cottons, Northwest has also been released on the control of genetically modified cotton from 2011. How much transgenic cotton has reduced production costs and increased the farmers' income? Compared with conventional cotton, transgenic cotton, how to reduce production costs and improve economic efficiency cotton? Which are the most important factors that affect economic benefits of transgenic cotton?This is a serious problem we need to make clear under the station of cotton supply shortage, it's also the basic work to stable cotton production, increase self-sufficiency ability.This paper reviewed the costs and benefits of agricultural products on the basis of accounting system, it first genetically defined the concept of cost of Bt cotton and specific indicator system, it also defined the relevant concepts of Bt cotton cost and benefits. Then analyzing strengths of the current regional distribution of cotton from overview of development of cotton and Bt cotton, and give description of our existing cotton production area in detail. At the same time this paper give clear sub-regional research of changes of the total cost and the component projects of cost before and after Bt cotton are planted, besides it also use empirical analysis method to study the influencing factors of transgenic cotton cost and benefits, and gives the relevant countermeasures.The results of this study show that:in recent years the overall costs and production costs of GM cotton are both on the rise, but the Yellow River and Yangtze River cotton-growing areas data analysis showed that the cultivation of genetically modified cotton can reduce the amount of seeds,and Bt cotton also has great effect in labor savings and lower pesticide costs; in the factors that impact cost profit fertilizer costs, the cotton price and land prices of genetically modified cotton economic impact of the most significant, it can be learn from this factor and starting to seek to reduce China's GM cotton production costs and improve cotton cost-effective way. |
