Objective:To study the effect of Yangxin granule on serum leptin in vulnerable plaque of rabbit model with P53 gene transfection.Method:Carotid artery wall injuries were induced by intravascular balloon in rabbits. At the end of the 8th week, recombinant adenovirus vector for transfecting P53 gene were injected to plaques of carotid segments. Rabbits were randomly divided into four groups:Model control group, Yangxin granule group, simvastatin group and blank group (6 in each group). Following of administration for two weeks, plaques were ruptured because of pharmacological triggering. At the end of the 8th and 10th weekend, the contents of serum leptin was detected by ELISA method. Results:Compared with blank group, the content of serum leptin in other groups were obviously increased at the end of the 8th week(P<0.05).Compared with model control group, the content of serum leptin in treatment groups was declined at the end of 10th week. There was significant difference between Yangxin granule group and simvastatin group (P<0.05).The content of serum leptin in Yangxin granule group was lower than that in simvastatin group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Yangxin granule could remarkably decrease the content of serum leptin in vulnerable plaque of rabbit model with P53 gene transfection, which might be one of the mechanisms for stabilizing vulnerable plaque.
