Objective To investigate expression and significance of CD44V6 and Bcl-2 in eyelid basal cell carcinoma. Methods 1. Testing the expression of CD44V6 and Bcl-2 in 52 cases of eyelid basal cell carcinoma by SP immunohistochemical staining.2. Comparing ordered multivariate data by the Kruskal-Wallis test; the correlation of CD44V6 and Bcl-2 analyzed by Spearman rank correlation. Results 1. The positive rates of CD44V6 in undifferentiated group and recurrence group of eyelid basal cell carcinoma were 35.71% and 57.14% respectively. CD44V6 expression was significantly (P<0.01) between undifferentiated group and differentiated group, recurrence group and non-relapse group. 2.The positive rates of Bcl-2 in undifferentiated group and recurrence group of eyelid basal cell carcinoma were 57.14% and 97.78% respectively. CD44V6 expression was significantly (P<0.01) between recurrence group and non-relapse group.3. The expression of CD44V6 and Bcl-2 was negatively correlated in eyelid basal cell carcinoma. Conclusion The expression of CD44V6 and Bcl-2 increased in the undifferentiated group and recurrence group of eyelid basal cell carcinoma, but no correlation between them. It is suggested CD44V6 and Bcl-2 may be involved in the development process of eyelid basal cell carcinoma. |
