Objective To evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of safflower yellow injection on the serum inflammatory factors and blood lipids in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods 76 Patients diagnosed ACS by clinical symptoms, ECG and myocardial enzymes, including 36 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI),40 patients with unstable angina (UA) were studied. Controlled group were treated with nitrates, ACEI,β-blockers, statins, anti-platelet drugs, anticoagulants therapy. Treated group were given the above treatment and safflower yellow injection. After 14 days, the blood lipids, hsCRP, IL-6, MMP-9 were tested in all patients. Results The blood lipids, hsCRP, IL-6, MMP-9 were decreased significantly in both groups after treatments (P<0.05) and those data tested had significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Safflower yellow injection could decrease the inflammatory factors and blood lipids in patients with acute coronary syndrome and protect the unstable coronary plaque from rupture.
