Subjective well-being is psychologists'definition for happiness from unique view. In other words, it is appraisers'overall evaluation on their quality of life based on their own standards (Diener E,1984). Subjective factors are supposed to be considered while people evaluate our living standards. Consequently, subjective well-being has been taken as one of the most significant factors to estimate people's living quality, and attracted more and more attention. Both subjective and objective elements can influence college students' subjective well-being. Objective elements include gender, grade, major, economic situation, job hunting, learning psychology, social support, daily matters, physical condition, social relationship and parenting style and so on, while subjective elements include temperament, character, explanatory style, self regulation, self respect and values and so on.On the basis of studying the elements of temperament and social communication, this thesis aims to figure out the two elements' influences on college students' subjective well-being and characteristics of college students'subjective well-being.Temperament is defined as people's biological tendencies on their actions and emotion, especially their psychological motivity which is determined by neuron structure and function, at their early ages. Temperament is mostly determined by genes. That's why people have paid little attention on the relativity between subjective well-being and temperament. In fact, it dose has critical influence on subjective well-being, and it also can be cultivated.Communication means the processes of exchange of information and personal opinions, the expression of emotion and the coordination of behaviors among college students, as well as between college students and others from society. The better college students can communicate with others, the better their communication status is, and consequently, the higher their subjective well-being level. In order to form healthy personality and realize self worth, it is important for college students to build right values on happiness, have higher level of subjective well-being. On the other hand, in order to have the right teaching ways and realize their responsibilities, it is helpful for teachers to understand students' temperament and communication ability. In one word, this thesis has both theoretical and practical meanings. We administers questionnaire to 260 college students in one university in Dalian, and has received 252 valid ones. After the statistical analysis, the results of the research are as following:1. There are striking differences on overall satisfaction about life and active emotional frequency, and very obvious differences on passive emotional frequency and overall subjective well-being among grades.2. Female students are higher than male students on overall satisfaction about life, active emotional frequency and overall subjective well-being. Male students are higher than female students on passive emotional frequency. The differences are especially noticeable on passive emotional frequency and overall well-being, very obvious on active emotional frequency and normal on overall satisfaction about life.3. The emotional reaction in temperament dimensionality and the active emotion in subjective well-being have positive correlation significantly. The communicative ability and the passive emotion in subjective well-being have negative correlation significantly. Sensitivity, emotional reaction, quick-minded and communication ability in temperament dimensionality can predict college students' subjective well-being.
