Content:Paper cutting is a traditional style of art in China. It has a very long history. The art has stepped into the modern world from a folk art which is imbued with local colour. Chinese paper cutting which places the best wishes not only is used in China but also has extended to Japan and other Southeast Asian countries who have also adopted this unique art. However, during the industrial revolution and the modernization in advance technology and science, western culture against the art of Chinese culture, Paper cutting faces extinction and its unique artful skill cease to exists in this new generation. So the question arises in what we can do to revive and protect this gracious traditional art of paper cutting to allow it to continue through generations and thereafter. So I do the deep research about how to save and pass on the art from generation to generation,the strategy of spreading and developing Chinese paper cutting has come out from my teaching research. I combined infiltrating the folk paper cutting art with my primary art teaching which is full of art creativity, in a way of uniting the folk art material with art education, to realize the existing of the folk art culture spirit.For teaching and passing on, we still have some problems, in traditional teaching style, there are some time limited for paper cutting teaching, eg, only one or two classes each week, the students can't taste the traditional art of paper cutting, it's hard to make the students love paper cutting. Today, most teachers think that paper cutting is a kind of skill, only teach them how to fold and cut, and some teacher even just tells the kids mime the pictures on the board, then cut it down. Here I think it has more skills, but it has less culture teaching, I read all the units about the art teaching for paper cutting and go deeply into paper cutting according to our new teaching standard,, according to primary school students' three steps of physical and psychological characteristics, I make the effect teaching styles, it contains paper cutting skills and paper cutting culture, and combined the art of the south and north paper cutting style with the foreign paper cutting style, then teach the knowledge of appreciating the folk art step by step. I research the way to lead the folk art into the primary school, according to different grades, teach them in steps. Now I has achieved some success.This article is the achievements of one stage to teaching paper cutting, it is also a chance for me to communicate with the other excellent teachers who love to pass on the paper cutting art. I hope to share our ideas and get more experiments about teaching the traditional art, to do our best to carry forward the spirit of our Chinese traditional paper cutting.
