As the product of information age and the development of cultural economy era, Cultural and creative industries holds enormous economic and social benefits. Many nations'cultural and creative industries are growing more quickly than any other pillar industries, and gradually become national backbone industry. In the backdrop of deepening globalization and intense international competition, the development level of cultural and creative industry level has become one of key indicators which measures one country's comprehensive competitiveness. Beijing, as China's political and cultural center, famous for its ancient history and culture, have been in recent years striving to establish itself as a world cultural and creative industries center city with international influence. In the "11th five-year plan" period, Beijing's cultural and creative industries have achieved good results. Given the influence of the global economic crisis and slow GDP growth rate, Beijing has to adapt itself to a new development model of cultural and creative industries if it wants to develop fast and well. Based on the above-mentioned background and reasons, it has great theoretic value and wide-ranged practical significance to research the cultural and creative industries development model of Beijing.Based on the theory of Competitive Advantage and Growth Pole Theory, taking Beijing's cultural and creative industries as the research target, the Paper uses not only theoretical and comparative analysis but also empirical research method. The Paper explores the development model of Beijing's cultural and creative industries from the point of improving competitiveness of the industries. This paper also introduces the basic theories of cultural and creative industries home and abroad, and proposes some theoretical viewpoints to research the development model of cultural and creative industries; London, New York and Seoul, as the metropolitans of world creative industries, are thoroughly analyzed and their experience are taken as reference. In this Paper, the author uses six factors of the "quasi diamond model" to research Beijing cultural and creative industries, and makes the industrial competitiveness analysis, then selects some mature Beijing cultural areas as analysis targets. Based on all above-mentioned analysis, the author proposes the development model of Beijing's cultural and creative industries should be "government's help, enterprise's cooperation, industrial agglomeration development, support of universities and research institutes in Beijing". In the conclusion, the Paper expounds the reasons why this model is chosen, and its implementation roadmap.
