A Contrastive Study Between Chinese Time Preposition "Zai" "Cong" And The Corresponding Thai

Base on data collection and literature research and guided by theories and methods such as contrastive linguistics, grammar and error analysis, this paper systematically analyzes and compares both similarities and differences between Chinese time preposition "zai" "cong" and the corresponding Thai, as well as analyzes main errors in Thai students'use of Chinese time preposition "zai" and "cong".There are five chapters in this paper.Chapter one briefly introduces the current status, theoretical methods, purposes.Chapter two compares and researches the Chinese time preposition "zai" and its corresponding Thai. Based on aspects such as grammatical meaning, syntactic organization, syntactic function and parts of speech, it compares both similarities and differences between Chinese time preposition and that of Thai.Chapter three compares and researches the Chinese time preposition "cong" and its corresponding Thai. Based on aspects such as grammatical meaning, syntactic organization, syntactic function and parts of speech, it compares both similarities and differences between Chinese time preposition and that of Thai.Chapter four is about the error analysis on Thai students'use of Chinese time preposition "cong" and "zai". It analyses the main errors and its main reasons for the use of Chinese time preposition "cong" and "zai".Chapter five is the conclusion.
