An Analysis Of The Corresponding Forms And Errors Of Chinese Space-Time Prepositions In Uygur Language

Most Chinese grammatical relations and grammatical meanings are usually represented by the function words,and Chinese has no bound forms like those in Uyghur.As a kind of function words,preposition is one of the important means of grammatical expression in Chinese,and it is a difficulty in teaching Chinese as a second language.This paper aims to make a comparative research on the corresponding Uyghur noun case forms of ten Chinese spatiotemporal prepositions including"????????????????????".Through the comparison,analysis will be made on the respective ways of spatiotemporal expression in prepositions and noun case forms,and explanation will be given to the causes of similarities and differences by using theories of language typology,comparative linguistics and cognitive linguistics.Analyzing the subtle features of spatiotemporal expressions in prepositions and noun case forms is of great help for understanding the grammatical expression functions and the spatiotemporal concept expression characteristics in Chinese and Uyghur.This research focuses on description and analysis of two groups of temporal preposition synonyms,respectively "?????" and "??????",as well as those of three groups spatial preposition synonyms including "???","?????",and "?????".Besides,summary and conclusion will be made about the errors of Uyghur students from mother tongue interference in acquiring the preposition synonyms,which can be a reference for teaching and learning.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of this research,related research on Chinese prepositions and that of Uyghur noun case forms,overview of theoretical methods,the source of linguistic data,and transcription of the Uyghur data.The second chapter analyzes the semantic and syntactic functions of Chinese preposition and Uyghur noun case,and the importance of those two in grammar system as well as the characteristics of their grammatical expressions.Based on the previous research on the appropriate classification of Chinese prepositions,semantics is particularly considered in classifying Chinese prepositions and Uyghur noun case forms in this research.The third chapter analyzes the corresponding noun case forms of Chinese spatiotemporal prepositions in Uyghur.Importance is attached to comparison between Chinese prepositions and corresponding Uyghur noun case forms,summary is made about the characteristics of correspondence between prepositions and noun case forms in the two languages,and explanation is given to the causes of the similarities and differences.The fourth chapter uses the error analysis theory and bilingual learning theory and analyzes Uyghur student' s error types and causes of errors,and then proposes some suggestions about teaching method.
