Names With The Word In The Dictionary Research

As an independent discipline, Anthroponymy is researchedtends to in-depth and extensive increasingly. However,it isstill rare to study the names and analysis the Chinesecharacters in People's Names of dictionaries from theperspective of dictionaries.As an authoritative reference book,Dictionary must be validity,accuracy and practicality.Therefore, the shortcomings of dictionaries should be amended,certainly including the defects of names in the dictionaries.In fact, there are some problems in marking and interpretationindeed.This paper selected "Xinhua Dictionary"(the latest version,version 10) which widely used in society as the research objectand analysed not only the selected features, the markingfeatures,but also reflected cultural content and culturalpsychological.Besides,the paper also pointed out that Chinesecharacters in People's Names have some problems such as oneword with many sounds, easy to read phonetic, homophoneshaped,lacking of content, Improper interpretation and so on.Lack of cultural connotation is also the shortage,andeventually come to a conclusion that most Chinese charactersin People's Names in "Xinhua Dictionary" are not suitable forcontemporary names.Besides,Marking with different forms andinappropriate labeling approach has also become deficienciesof "Xinhua Dictionary". In order to make "Xinhua Dictionary"more complete, to provide references for other dictionaries onmarking People's Names,and to make practice more practical,we tried to identify these deficiencies, improve and solvethese problems.And this is just the significance of theresearch paper.
