As a special linguistic form, Chinese idioms reflects the unique way of thinking and performances of Han in history and culture. We can say that Chinese idioms have rich cultural connotations. The study of idiom teaching is gradually becoming the hot spots in the academic world. This helps to develop Chinese vocabulary teaching, also helps to spread of Chinese culture.This paper has four parts.The first part tells that the reasons for the title, the content and methods taken of Chinese idioms research. Also the studying fruits of the predecessors are summarized.From the perspective of Chinese idioms teaching, the second part emphasizes the status of Chinese idioms teaching and deep analyzes its shortcomings at present.From the perspective of Chinese language learners, the third part Collects and classifies errors which foreign students made. Second Language Acquisition is used to analyze the reasons for errors.On the basis of the above, in the fourth part four teaching methods are listed in order to improve the education of Chinese idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Also, how to choose appropriate Chinese idioms in teaching Chinese is urgent and important.
