Diet is the basic need of a human's daily life.A foreigner who learns Chinese must begins with dietetic words.As for idiom,being one of the most important parts in vocabularies as well as the most closed to people's daily life,it embodies the great wisdom of people,as a result of which it attracts much attention from foreigner who wants to learn Chinese.However,the previous study concentrated more on the teaching research of dietetic words or just on the idioms and got some results,but neglect a certain kind of idiom.On the basis of predecessors' research,this article aims to explore the methods of teaching research on idiom and tries to put forward the teaching methods such as using "metaphor" and "contrast" in order to provide some reference for the future teaching of dietetic idioms by taking “National Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency” and “Developing Chinese”as research objects and by combining the research of ontology and teaching Chinese as a foreign language.There are 7 parts in the article.The first part is abstract which contains the background and meaning of selected topic,the review of the current situation of related studies and lastly the study methods and selected corpora.The second part gives an overview of the origin and composition of the dietetic idioms.The third part analysis the structure of dietetic idioms especially on chengyu and set phrase.The fourth part makes the research of pragmatic and cultural of dietetic idioms on rhetoric aspect.The fifth part investigates the current teaching situation of dietetic idioms and submit some questions by combining the “National Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency” and “Developing Chinese” comprehensive course.The sixth part puts forward some ideas and tries to make some solutions based on the investigation results of part five.The seventh part is the epilogue which reviews and summarizes the full text.
