In the 1990s, many scholars successively concern on the topic of translators'subjectivity, with the appearance of the corresponding researches on translator's subjectivity. However, translators, as a human being with independent ideation, personal cultural perspectives and values, acts as the main character with their subjectivity and initiatives in the whole translating process. What translators doing is actually not only as the transformation between the source language and the target language.Making a comprehensive survey both from the domestic and abroad, translators'subjectivity is in the developing and exploring stage, with their attention on the routine fields as: translation theory, techniques and strategy, however, the translators'individual subjectivity factors, translators'personality, capacity and their translation strategies and motivation, which are the virgin soil that has not been totally cultivated with less special surveys. In my thesis, I will select Lin Shu's translated novels as subject and do my research from the above prospects. This thesis selects Lin Shu's translated novels as the subject, escaping from the norms of the regular linguistic by comparison between the original and Lin's translated Chinese version. As for Lin's mistranslation, this thesis will do my analysis on three aspects: his personality, literary, classic Chinese profound cultivation, and his translation strategy and motivation in the body part, which have close relationship with the translation works, especially for the translation quality. With my conclusion as, Lin Shu's capacity and his personality gained his outstanding reputation as the most evidence on expressing his subjectivity as a translator. Lin's mistranslation is not his freely action, but has its reasonableness, either as expressing his feelings or as waking up the Chinese people's, adapting to his Chinese readers'acceptability, which was the reason of his success in his translation. Lin Shu's translation strategies as deletion, adding and alteration relied on the foundation of cultural exchange, which manifested his selection in the aspects of cultural delivering. So, it is essential to consider with the translator's capacity, literary personality, literary cultivation and translation motivation in the comment on translation works especially in the field of literary translation.
