In contemporary literature of China,the new era literature has an important position, where the new era novels occupy an important component,which produce a lot of works with a classical sense, but also create a lot of typical literature images, the image of the educated youth is unique in China's contemporary literary world.The evolution of the image of the educated youth through the development process of contemporary novels of China in the eighties and nineties of the twentieth century,by the systematic study of the image of the educated youth in the novel of this era,we can probably see the rheological context of the new era literature,and also sense the times' development and people's spiritual longing of contemporary china,thus to know "people" where the value and dignity.On the base of wide reading the new era novels text and searching existing academic works and literature,the paper re-sorts and carries out a systematic analysis.Under the premise of the type-study on the image of the educated youth,it tries to analyze its aesthetic characteristics,therefore profoundly understand all the resentment,hope,depression and helplessness.From the subjective and objective,macro and micro study of the course and reason of the evolution of the educated youth,it realize the complex factors of the evolution of the educated youth.From the start with analysis of meaning of literary history and refletion of shortage of the image of the educated youth,it explores the image of the educated youth bearing the social value and meaning of literary history.But it also points out the imperfections of the image of the educated youth, which may be learned and helpful for creating image-realistic and character-full image of the educated youth of artistic value.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper's main body has three chapters. The first chapter mainly divides the image of educated youth into images of suffering,returning,noble,and "alternative" types,and analyzes their aesthetic characteristics. On the basis of the previous chapter,the second one is to study the course of the evolution of the educated youth and explore the reason from the context changes in the social politics and the value orientation of the social culture.The third one is to explore its meaning of literary history and analyze its imperfections of the image of the educated youth, finally confirms the influence and meaning of the image of the educated youth for the characterization in the new era novels.
