According to the statistics one fourth of the world's population speak Chinese that is why Chinese language plays an important role on the stage of world economy. At the same time it greatly affects cultural development in the world. In recent years a sudden increase in Chines language was experienced all around the world. The reasons are the following: first of all, the attractiveness of Chinese language itself, second, the continuing development of China's economy, with increasing investment, cooperation and exchange of knowledge with every other country in the world, third, China has its rich cultural heritage.At present there are about 5 million Asians learning Chinese, including Vietnamese people. Some experts predict that in the 21st century, Chinese, used by one fourth of people now, will become the most common language in the world. Regardless of which language you learn, you can`t learn it overnight, you`ll need a teacher's guidance and own efforts as well. In the process of studying one can run into a lot of mistakes, relatively complicated grammar and aspects that are hard to learn. Chinese auxiliary words have always been the key point of Chinese language teaching and a difficulty for foreign students, and Vietnamese students are not an exception.This paper is aimed to present the most common mistakes in the usage of Chinese auxiliary words made by Vietnamese students: to analyze these mistakes, to find out reasons of making these mistakes and to give teaching recommendations. Thus the thesis is divided into 3 main parts of research. First of all using the method of comparative analysis we will examine whether or not most common Chinese auxiliary words have their adequates in Vietnamese and find out similarities and differences between the auxiliary words of these two languages. Similarities show the positive transfer from mother tongue to the target language, while the differences show the negative transfer.Besides, using the method of questionnaire, we collected the exercises of students and using the method of error analysis we investigate and point out where the mistakes are made, and suggest the reasons for those mistakes as well as the way to resolve them. In conclusion, find out the reasons of mistakes and make an analysis, point out some suggestions in the aspect of Chinese language teaching. Hope to be of help to Vietnamese students in their study of Chinese auxiliary words, encourage Chinese teachers to discover new methods in teaching them.
