Hong Kong, is the third biggest industrial base and the second-largest film Exporter in the world. As the pioneer of the Chinese film industry, Hong Kong is worth concerning.Since 1909, during more than 100 years, Hong Kong, not only has produced a lot of different types of film, dug out the generations of movie stars with different style and international reputation, but also has cultivated a large number of talented film makers. Especially in recent years, except some commercial movie directors show brilliantly, some maverick filmmakers, such as Kar Wai Wong, Fruit Chan, Johnny To, Mabel Cheung, Gordon Chan, and Stanley Kwan, not only award-winning in the film world in our country,but also get extreme attention in the western world. Among them, some people even have super reputation and appeal in the internation, such as Kar Wai Wong.These people are called "the new NEW WAVE" film director in Hong Kong, and their film is called "the new NEW WAVE" film which becomes in fact some segments of the epitome of the politics, the economy, the culture, the society and the history about Hong Kong in the twentieth century.At present, it has not been formed a system about"the new NEW WAVE" film in Hong Kong in China which studies its theories.When researchers talk about "the new NEW WAVE", they talk only a little. One in a thousand involving the topic, only mention it incidentally in some topics about film and television.And most studies are based only on some individual understanding about"the new NEW WAVE" from the researcher, and it is rare which talk it systematicly.In view of this situation, the paper try to analyse and research "the new NEW WAVE"film in Hong Kong systematicly on the basis of literature investigation and watching film,for the purpose of doing a survey about it macroscopically and enriching the related research.This paper studies from the origin explanation and the concept explanation of the new NEW WAVE", defines its origin, its concept and its range, analyses its background from these three aspects,the international conditions,the social ones and the historical ones; next,takes some typical directors for example, analysing some theory combining their works, studying the characteristics of different authors'perspective creative features,in order to research the personality of "the new NEW WAVE" of Hong Kong;then,this article researches the characteristics on creation of this wave, from the standpoint of the film types,narrative characteristics,and narrative strategies; then, the paper studies emphatically in line with the aesthetic characteristics and the cultural characteristics of film in the wave; at last, the paper analyzes the situation and problems which the wave are facing, from several typical standpoints of it, even puts forward several suggestions for it, aiming to play a small role for the progress of the wave and Hong Kong's film.
