Resilience is described as a kind of positive mental quality which can help individuals buffer or resist the negative effects caused by stress or crisis. Foreign research of resilience is very fruitful, but the conclusions on the resilience mechanisms in how to deal with stress and to keep mental health were not consistent. The research on resilience is just in its starting stage in China, and the resilience study of senior students is less.We invited 1204 senior students to participate in this study through questionnaire which was used to explore the relationship among employment pressure, resilience and anxiety. Employment Pressure of Senior Students Scale was firstly self-developed, with Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Charles D.Spielberger State Anxiety Items were used in this study, and the results were found as follows:1. Employment Pressure of Senior Students Scale is consisted of 26 items, including five dimensions like self-evaluation of competitiveness, self-evaluation of state of mind, evaluation of employment job-hunting situation, evaluation of channels to employment and evaluation of setbacks in job-hunting. The scale with good reliability and validity can be regarded as an effective tool to evaluate employment pressure of seniors.2. Employment pressure, resilience and anxiety of senior students are above average. In the terms of employment pressure, non-211 was significantly higher than 211; girls were significantly higher than boys; the students in poor families were higher than these in wealthy and ordinary families; gender and major had significant interaction effects. In the terms of resilience: urban students were higher than rural students; the students in wealthy and ordinary families were higher than these in poor families; the interaction effects of school type and major were significant.3. Employment pressure was positively associated with anxiety; resilience was negatively associated with anxiety; employment pressure and resilience were significantly associated with resilience. The regression of anxiety on the employment pressure, resilience was significant, the employment pressure and anxiety were positively correlated; resilience had significant predictability on anxiety.4. According to the results of Structural Equation Modeling, resilience was a mediator between employment pressure and anxiety, which could account for 21.28% of the anxiety's variance caused by employment pressure. In further study, we found that the three mediating effects in order between employment pressure and anxiety were: self-reliance, tenacity and optimism.
