A Study On Fujian Social Relief In Qing Dynasty

Natural calamity is recorded throughout every dynasty. Vulnerable groups always exist objectively. Social relief is one of the necessary measures to maintain social harmony. Historically, social relief changes over time. Official relief established in Tang and Song Dynasties. With the development of the society. folk relief turn up after the mid of Ming dynasty. Effective social relief of Chinese tradition society consists of the cooperation of official and folk relief. In this thesis, we try to put social relief research into the research of regional society. The cut point of this thesis is Fujian region, reseaarch time is refined in Qing Dynasty and the range is Prefecture of Foozhow, Xinghua, Zhangzhou,Quanzhou,J ianning, Yanping, Shaowu, Tingzhou and Funing. Through deep-going research of historical materials, we try to display comprehensively the outline of Fujian social relief in Qing Dynasty and evolution of different stage. We try to find influential fators to social relief in the course of social change to reveal the influence of social relief to social change. We discuss the local color and the operation feature of Fujian social relief in Qing Dynasty to find the reason of participation. Natural calamity such as earthquake, ice-snow, have been come into been frequently at home and abroad. The research has powerful implications for the world. Through the discussion of social relief of Qing dynasty, We can therefore hold a mirror to the present social relief.
