The article is mainly about "Gar", the Tibetan court music and dance. It is divided into tow parts to explain the author's idea. In the first, the article traces back the history of introduction of the Islamic music and dance into Tibet. And it also detailedly analyzed the two points of view that Gar is introduced into Tibet in the period of Tibet Kingdom, and in the period of 17th century. The article expatiated the possibility of introduction of Gar into Tibet according to the whole circumstance of history, the style of religion, and system of politics. Along with the existing relics of Tibet Kingdom as the proof, the article explained that the multi-culture in the Tibet Kingdom is the hothouse of introducing all kinds of styles of music into Tibet. Secondly, the author delved the saying that Gar is introduced into Tibet in 17th century, and this view is widely accepted, and many datum also proofed this idea. The author think that the form of music in 17th century is reintroduced into Tibet, which is existed in Tibet Kingdom and ruined in the period of breakdown of Tibet kingdom. The author's view is based on the books in 17th century, in which said that the kings in Ladakh and western Tibet dedicated this style of music to the leader of Tibet, but the book didn't mention that the music is just introduced to Tibet that time. Furthermore, the article emphasized the specific conditions of Gar, which performed in the court of Dailai Lama and Panchan Lama in the later time. Including the organization, training and end-result of the troupe.The second part is mainly analyzed the music of Gar, which is mainly according to the book《the Joyous Feast for the Eys, Mind and Ears, Catching like an Iron Hook》, this book is attributed to Sde-srid Sangs-rgyas Rgya-mtsho who was the prince regent of the Fifth Dalai Lama. And the another reference book is《Mchod-Sbrin-Gar-Rol》,which is saved by Mass Art Center of T. A.R, and Mass Art Center of Lhasa city. It analyzed and hackled the structure of some of music in those two books. In which it recorded the Gar music that displayed in Ari, Ladakh and Balti-stan. And the author also explained that the successive Gar-pa worked so hard to make the Gar music as a combination of the traditional and native. It also expatiated the whole history of the development of the Gar athwartships, and also the communion of the culture of music of multi-place lengthways.
