A Study Of The Christian Style Of Western Film

This article aims to examine the influence of Christianity (including its theological doctrine, social organization, artistic heritage, etc.) upon style of Western film .The research scope will be strictly limited to the relationship between a religion (Christianity)as a historical existence and a style as an external form of expression of an art(film). Through the example of Christianity and in regard to the relationship between religion and film, this text plan to resolve these question: As far as Christianity and film be concernd, is there an kind of Christian Film in the traditional religious art sense?In what aspects did the production mechanism and artistic features of film make it more alienated with religion, and what possibility did it creat in order to convey a particular religious experience? In addition to prividing a certain themes and content for the west film, in what aspects did christion religion influence the form of expression of film and the style of expression of film artist?Christian art of aesthetic sense and its director, the style of the traditional means of production which directly or indirectly? What influence, weather direct or indirect,had it put upon the stylization of directors in consideration of the aesthetic consciousness and art tradition of Christianity?The first chapter of this text would like to discuss the changing of relationship between film and Christianity in modern times. By discussing the light and image style of film, and by discussing master work of different directors,the second and third chapters would like to state that how it could mark the stylization of film through theological idea and cultural sense and aesthetic heritage of Christianity.
