Heart Follows The Eyes, Eyesfollow The Huashan

Wanglv's"Preface of HuaShan Painting"is one of the most important painting theories in China's landscape painting history. In this theory, Wanglv described detailedly about how he thought and his pursue of beauty when he created his work"Volume of HuaShan Painting". He put forward some unique ideas about the relevance of form and meaning, the patriarchal clan system inherit and how artists could change. Among them, a very important idea was put forward, which was"I follow my heart, my heart follows my eyes and my eyes follow HuaShan."It emphasizes the importance to follow the nature as your teacher in landscape painting creation. That is a kind of practice of Wangzao's theory"Let nature to be the teacher, you will get the feeling in your heart."In my article, I try to unscramble Wanglv's painting theory in three aspects by comparative analysis of his work"Volume of HuaShan Painting"and the works learned from Mayuan and Xiagui in order to confirm his theory. The experience we get from it may provide some references for our study and creation in the future.
