We can find that words rely deeply on the context it relates to through our research of linguistics. Words of any text all originate from a specific context. If people do not analyze linguistics phenomena on the basis of the very context, they will not judge the property of a word or reach the real meaning of it exactly.The main purposes of this article are to study the practical function of various context in teaching of Chinese as a foreign language (tcfl), to solve the practical problems in teaching by analyzing context and to find the way to conduct teaching process by creating an accurate and effective context and thereby provide convenience for students to learn and practice. There are three aspects of the main content of this article: the first part is the basic content of contextualism,which includes the definition, classification and the influencing factors of context. The second part discusses the important function of context, including the general function of context and the special function of context in teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The third part talks about the specific application of context in tcfl, which includes three aspects. They are the principle, concrete utilization and the problems should be noticed of context teaching. By analyzing the text, the writer hopes that this article can be helpful to the practical teaching.
