With the rapid development of social economy, ideology is all-time and active, new things, new ideas emerge in large numbers, which has produced a large number of new words. New words and expressions not only have strong times sense, reflect the social changes, but also reflect the law of the development of words. This paper aims at new words in 2009,2010 as the research object, and combines with new words outstanding characteristics -- creativity, to explore new words from the syllable features, type of word-formation, lexical, semantic and social cultural and psychological background color. I Hope this paper can make people better understand the language and its use of new era. This paper is mainly divided into the following sections:The first chapter talks about the necessity of understanding new words at the present stage, which offers a definition for new words in this research, dividing the study of new words in three stages:the rise, development, prosperity. The paper summarizes the research's goal and the significance, and introduced briefly in this paper the main data sources, methods used in this research.The second chapter summarizes the characteristics of new words. Through the comparison the proportion of different syllable words of 06 years -- 08 years, polysyllabic new words appear phase are more dominant. Chinese word-formation method is very flexible and diverse, because in Chinese there are some morpheme of word-building ability which increases greatly, so people have more profound understanding of things, the expressions more accurate, image more vivid.The third chapter analyzes the Neologism Formation types, and coinage. New words and expressions are the main types of simple words, compound words, letters and numbers. Synthetic words can be divided into compound and additional words. Composite type include:combined, formal, supplementary, verb-object, subject-verb type. Additional include former type, and type and three syllable plus type. New words and expressions of the coinage are mainly rhetoric words, cross-border use words, borrowed words, unconventional combinations and other ways. The coinage of the method is very flexible.The fourth chapter analyzes the color system of new words, and understand new words from emotion, style, time color further understanding of new words. The fifth chapter discusses the psychology of social culture background of new words, analyses new words involved in the various fields of the society, and learns new words from the social psychology and the social and cultural background.The last chapter is the conclusion part, which summarizes the main viewpoints and research conclusions, the inadequacy of the paper, and the expression of determination and plan to continue in-depth study.
