How To Use Communicative Language Teaching In English Teaching Of High Vocational Schools?

With the development of society, knowing the current English teaching mode in some schools especially in the higher vocational schools, we realize the importance of improving ability of Spoken English and listening. It is not enough to use the original teaching mode to meet the needs of the talents for the society. Therefore, after we analyzed some theories such as background, features and principles of Communicative Language Teaching, we knew that Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) can improve the students' English communicative ability to some extent.I designed some questionnaires to carry out surveys among some teachers and students by combining interviewing and training research for them. For the sake of my dissertation, I collected some materials about CLT and teaching mode in some vocational students as the basis of the dissertations. Based on the training and experiment for some students from Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology, we made some analysis, research and compare for their English Learning. We can make a conclusion that Communicative Language Teaching can improve the English speaking and listening ability of the students to some extent.The students were from two classes. So, when we made the analysis and research for the two classes, we must guarantee that some basic elements are the same for the two classes like teachers, student' numbers, English level, class period and environment. One class adopted the traditional mode and another class adopted the Communicative Language Teaching mode. After some periods of studying, we could make a compare between the classes to justify that the Communicative Language Teaching can improve the students'communicative ability and is acceptable for the students. At the same time, we should know some limitations and realities for our research and make use of this teaching mode in Our English Teaching.
