Tourism is a significant comprehensive multi-level phenomenon concerning society, economy, and culture. Recently, the touring of China is developing with an incomparable rapid speed. According to the forecast of the World Touring Organization, China will become the top touring reception country and the fourth one in terms of the number of tourists leaving the county till 2020. Touring has become an essential part of modern industry, sharing more and more percentage and its crucial role in national economy becomes clearer. For its rapid development, touring is considered as one of the sunrise industry. Touring is composed of six constituents. They are eating, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertaining, among which shopping is the most flexible incoming. The producing of touring souvenirs is also one of the high added value industries. Developing touring souvenirs can not only push forward economy, but also promote the publicity of the touring spots.Compared with the development of touring industry, that of souvenirs is a little hysteretic. There are some problems about the touring souvenirs of our country. Such as, no regional features, similar styles, low quality, and lack culture meaning. The incoming of touring souvenirs takes a small part in the total incoming of touring industry. It is about only 20% while in some developed countries and regions, it takes about 40% to 60%. From this we can see the weakness of the development of touring souvenirs. How to develop and design touring souvenirs has become an important researching subject. China has put more and more focus on the development of touring souvenirs and the research on it, but it is not so much on integrating the knowledge of touring and art designing to contribute to the designing strategy of touring souvenirs.Under this circumstance, firstly, this paper tries to analyze the motivations of purchasing touring souvenirs and the types of tourists. Then give a practical designing method in the hope of offering some reference for the developing and designing of touring souvenirs of Wuhu City so that promoting its economic development. Secondly, this paper explains the concept of touring souvenirs and how to classify them and tries to analyze the purchasing motivation of tourists and the factors may influence this, which lay a theoretical foundation for the successive papers. Thirdly, this paper analyzes the relationship between the regional culture and the designing of touring souvenirs. Fourthly, according to the actual situation of Wuhu City, this paper gives some designing principles and methods of Wuhu touring souvenirs. Finally, this paper makes an outlook of the future development to Wuhu touring souvenirs.
