On Employment-oriented Teaching Reform Of Public English In Higher Vocational College

From the end of 1990s, the employment situation of higher vocational graduates has always been serious. How can we solve the problem? On one hand, government should take measures to solve the problem. On the other hand, higher vocational colleges should deepen the educational reform, insist on taking the market as the guidance and constantly adapt to the changing employment situation.Higher vocational education has developed for more than 20 years. It is a higher level vocational education, which is quite different from academic higher education and secondary vocational education. Both theoretical research and educational practice have been developed quickly in higher vocational education.However, because the tradition that knowledge is more important than skills still exists, it is difficult to establish its characteristics. It hasn't played its role in the vocational training, which is especially true in its public English teaching.There are still a number of problems in public English teaching practice. So it is necessary to explore and build the employment-oriented reform in public English teaching. The reform will meet the needs of Chinese quality education and let students have a strong foundation in English learning and learn the ability to use English in the practical work.This thesis includes five chapters.Chapter 1 emphasizes the importance the necessity of this research topic by describing its background, the basic basement and the present situation on higher vocational education in domestic and foreign countries.Chapter 2 is theoretical basis for the employment-oriented reform in public English teaching.Chapter 3 analyzes the limitation and insufficiency in public English teaching in KSCVC and tries to find out the gap between the employment and the current teaching.Chapter 4 puts forward the strategies and approaches of the employment-oriented reform in public English teaching.Chapter 5 is the last part of the paper. It presents the conclusions and reflections of the paper. Public English teaching plays an important role in the vocational training. To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public English teaching, we must give priority to the employment of students, so that we can ensure the employment security and future growth.
