ChenJiRu is a famous litterateur, artist as well as a controversial "recluse" in the late Ming dynasty. The academic researches on him are mainly focused on his identities and life course. ChenJiRu had traveled extensively and written many relevant articles. Therefore, he had comparative systematic and special ideas on the tour activities. However, the academic researches pay little attention to his tour activities, some of which are only mentioned in some articles occasionally. The researchers have never done special systematic classifications and studies on this aspect. Therefore, the author believes that researches on ChenJiRu's tour activities are very meaningful. These researches can help to gain a more comprehensive understanding on ChenJiRu's life experiences and spiritual pursuits. Besides these researches also can reflect the social fashions admired by the literati scholar-bureaucrats as well as the social particularity in the late Ming dynasty.Except introduction and conclusion, this article is composed by four sections.Section One introduced the social identity and the life background of Chen Jiru.Section Two is about Chen Jiru's tourist activity, which is researched by four stages in different periods of life. Stage one is the period of concentrating studying in his twenty-nine, primary life is reading books and doing research. There are fewer chances to be out for travelling because of economic condition and short time. Stage Two is the period of teaching students by open a school in his thirty to forty-eight. At this time visiting friends is for purpose, Chen Jiru make his living by teaching and edit books, and also make friends, visit each other and travelling. So he have chances for travel every year. Stage Three is a rich period of his forty-nine to seventy. Chen Jiru is creating and enjoying his ideals and seclusion at this time. He is always go out for travelling and visit friends. So at this time travelling is for widening his horizon and pleasure. Stage Four is Chen Jiru's easy and comfortable old age in his seventy-one to eighty-two. Because entering his mid-seventies, scarcely go out for travelling. Therefore we will summarize Chen's travel activity by the travel time, place and purpose in the end of section. Section Three analyze the effect of travelling for Chen's poems, travel notes, letter-writing, memorials and some other literature outputs. These works contains the literature view and background also be analyzed.Section Four is only summarize Chen's tourism by four sides, such as relaxation, tourism subject, travel round and roads.At the epilogue part we will sum up Chen's travel activity, and also his specificity in his old age. He tried to recapitulate the later Min Dynasty's literati and wind's change as the historical reason, and promulgate the Min Dynasty's special epoch connotation.
