A large number of researches have shown that group counseling can improve students' mental health.This study seeks to build up group counseling programs for vocational students on the basis of previous studies. The objects are two groups of fresh students majoring in accounting from Jiangsu Haimen secondary specialized School.With experiments group intervention, the influence of psychological health can be observed.Based on literature review on group counseling's concept, origin and development process all over the world, the conclusion can be made that group counseling provides enough theoretical basis and technical support for Counseling intervention experiments on vocational students, it also shows the effectiveness and feasibility on student's mental health improvement.The object of this study is two groups of fresh students.one is as the experimental group with counseling intervention; another is as control group.With the tools of Mental Health Questionnaire (MSSMHS); group feedback; self assessment forms; the experiment data for both groups were obtained, the quantitative and qualitative analysis and comparison were made.With data difference T-test analysis on two groups,7of10factors except for "hostile""maladaptive" or "mentally unbalanced" show a significant difference for two groups, which means mental health level for experimental group with counseling intervention is much higher than control group. The class group counseling is helpful for fresh students' psychological health improvement.Class group counseling can also improve the classroom environment, improve class cohesion, enhance students' self-confidence,self-esteem, enhance personal environmental adaptability, reduce students' anxiety, fear and hostility to the strange situation and promote students to open mind and willing to share. The counseling programs for vocational fresh students should also include time management, career planning, interpersonal communication, interpersonal trust, emotional management, self-concept, and potential personal development.The class group counseling programs include group activities, games, experience practice, discussion and feeling sharings, without too much theoretical knowledge explanation.It is an effective way of mental health education in vocational schools, which should be widely spread out.
