With the introduction and development of the Three-Dimension theory, the research on the categories of semantic structures of sentence (that is, sentence framework) in Modern Chinese has become hot in the field of Modern Chinese Grammar ever since 1980s.Guided by grammar theories such as the Three-Dimension theory, the Valence Grammar theory and the Case Grammar, it has applied to this paper analyses, including the transformation analysis, semantic orientation analysis, semantic property analysis and so on.It has been both described and analyzed in this paper certain sentence frameworks carrying the semantic meaning of"encounter"among the basic ones in modern Chinese, and at the same time been compared on the relationshiop between these sentence frameworks and their correspondent sentence patterns and the sentence categories. Therefore, the complex interactions among factors which affect the sentence framework structure, and the reference for the determination of the specific sentence frameworks in modern Chinese can be achieved, as well as the correspondent evidences for both teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the information processing in the Chinese language. This paper consists of 5 chapters. The introduction, as the first chapter, contains the background, current research situation, the insufficiency, meanings, theoretical hypothesis and methods in the field of sentence framework research. In the second chapter there are the standards for the classification of the sentence frameworks, and a definition of the very"encounter"semantic sentence framework in the research. Then it follows the semantic analysis for the"encounter"semantic sentence framework in the third chapter. Here the relationship between the core-verb structure and the sentence framework is introduced, as well as the distinguishment of the semantic roles in the"encounter"sentence frameworks. Consequently, the features of the verbs in this sentence framework have been concluded and described in detail. And later it has been discussed the extended"encounter"sentence framework. In the following chapter, owing to the discussion on the cause of three special sentence frameworks, it has been affirmed that the analysis should be oriented from both the verb (or the core-verb), and the factors like the adverbial, the sentence order and pattern. And there has been an investigation on the syntax and semantics of the"encounter"sentence framework in the last chapter.
