The worldwide phenomenon of "Chinese Fever" attracted attentions from many different disciplines and organizations regarding the training of Chinese teachers. A number of educational institutions at all levels began to conduct Chinese language training programs popular with students attracted by the idea of teaching overseas. Among these programs, Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and the Master Program of Teaching Chinese as Second Language (or Foreign Language) both in China and the United States aimed to train practical, higher level and professional teachers of Chinese. Since the history of these programs is not long, there is a need for further study how the curriculums prepare students for their teaching career.This paper adopted Comparative Education research method, and adopted a sample of six universities'Chinese teacher preparation curriculums in China and six in the United States to study. This thesis consists of collecting the curriculums; data description analysis; comparison the dates within four categories, i.e. General classification, Required courses, Elective courses and Teaching practice. The findings of this paper are that Chinese curriculums are very similar to each other, largely based on teaching methods courses, whereas curriculums in the Unites States are more varied; Courses of Chinese Literature, History, Culture take main part.According to the findings, some suggestions are given to improve the curriculums in both China and the United States.
