Study On Polyphonic Narrative In Lu Ling's Novels

There are some polyphonic characters in Lu Ling's novels, such as subjectivity, dialogism and open-endedness. In this paper, when talking about the subjectivity, the author takes synchronic conscious and special artistic images as the viewpoint, concluding that the main role's conscious has equal value to the author's as well as other roles'; when discussing the dialogism, the author focuses on the aesthetic communication in a "he-presenting" view which includes text contrapuntal communication and double-voicedness, finding that Lu has borrowed some scenic methods for text connection to make some special scenes and the effect of temporal transfer. However, there are also some differences. In Lu's novels, both the special scenes and the temporal transfer work for the dialogism of the characters'conscious. Also, double voicedness provides specific ways of dialogues. As to the open-endedness of Lu's works, the author concentrated on the open aesthetic effect, coming to a conclusion that there is not only hyper text open-endedness from the author's puzzle and the readers' acceptance but also the open-endedness of the characters inside the text. Polyphonic narrative makes Lu's novels a not-closed circle with more blank and uncertain points, showing the various possibility of open definition.The polyphonic narrative in Lu Ling's novels partly bases on the contradiction between the awareness of unexpected development and gloom in Lu's own world outlook. It develops from soliloquy to polyphony and then recessive polyphony, bring unique importance to the writing skills as well as the writing notion of modern and contemporary Chinese literature.
