Beijing Fahai temple is an ancient culture base with historical and artistic value. It was built in mid-fifteenth century, ten Ming dynasty murals was painted on main hall which represent the highest level of the Ming mural art. This article selected this content to do the initial exploration, try to find out the artistic style and value of these murals. It contains the following five parts:The introduction describes the main idea of the research, which contains research value, status and methods. By configuration of the historical material and fieldwork material, the first chapter focuses on the historical and culture interpretation basis on some significant part of the content and art configuration of the mural in the main hall. Chapter two is based on examination of the art style, by comparing the Fahai temple murals with the Liao and Jin murals of the northern Part in Shanxi Province and the Nan Song court Paintings; aiming to find out the original source of the main hall murals. The third chapter moves forward to get conclusion of the two original sources of the Fahai mural, using method of configuration of the historical material and the differences between the mural style of the Liao and Jin Tern Pies of the northern Part in Shanxi Province and Ming dynasty. Chapter four bases on the religious character of FahaiTempel, to conclude that it originated from Tibetan Buddhist. This chapter mainly focuses on the different time period art style affected by the same religious; trying to find out the art value of Fahai temple mural in China's art history.Finally, this article stands out that Fahai Temple mural is the combination of the mural style of Liao and Jin TemPles of the northern Part in Shanxi Province, the painting style of the Nansong dynasty, and art style of the Tibetan Buddhist. Fahai temple mural reflects some figures of Nansong paint style, which means that it has related with the court painters in some way. Meanwhile, the religious part shows the religious principle in Ming dynasty, also by comparing the western and Chinese murals, Chinese murals shows the same historical relationship, which of course result in the same art value.
