Sino-us Bilateral Dialogue Mechanism To Explore

The inter-dependence among nations has deepened gradually with the development of globalization. And Sino-U.S. relations are absolutely one of the most significant bilateral relations. Mechanism dialogues are also becoming more and more common between China and the United States. According to the theories on international mechanisms, these dialogues could help countries to reduce communication costs, improve mutual trust, increase transparency and predictability of each other's policies, prevent and manage crisis and thus enhance the strategic mutual trust and strategic stability between powers.Thus, these two nations has established about sixty cooperation mechanisms in the field of politics, diplomacy, economy and trade, military issues, education and human right to strengthen and expand cooperation. This thesis is applying the methodology of case study to analyze how these important mechanisms improve bilateral cooperation between China and United States of America.S&ED in political field, Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade in economic field, Sino-U.S. defense dialogue in military field and Anti-terrorism consultation are the typical examples and important platform of Sino-U.S. mechanism cooperationAnalysis on Sino-U.S. mechanism would be inspiring for analysis on the use of bilateral mechanism, especially between powers. Positive understanding about Sino-U.S. mechanism would make U.S. more active in constructing the relations between China and other powers, including U.S., and thus would help to create a favorable diplomatic environment for China's peace and development.
