The Sino-US relations have stepped into a new phase since Obama came into power. As a result, Chinese scholars show great interest in finding out what change would Obama bring to US strategic towards China. It is said that learning from history is one of the most effective research approach. In order to make some contribution to current study on Sino-US relations, this thesis decides to pick the post cold war era as a research sample and to sum up the US strategy towards China.During the research, text comparison was taken as the main analytical method. The 12 National Security Strategy Report of the United States from 1990 to 2010 were picked out as the analytic objective. Firstly we find out the adjustment and heritage of US's general strategy. Then we deduce the possible impact for the US's Chinese strategy. The third step is to find out the exactly changes for the US's Chinese strategy supported by specific historical facts and the regularities within them as well. Last, giving out a brief anticipation for the futur of Sino-US relations.After systemic analysis, below results came out. First, the US strategy towards China shown by the report direct the Sino-US relations: the more words about China in the report that year the closer Sino-US relations in that period. Second, strategically, US emphasis more on safe and economic area in the cooperation with China and the related interdependency strengthens. Third, we can predict that there will be more cooperation in the security and economic area between China and America, while disputes remains in democratic topic. In a word, more cooperation, closer relations.
