Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, established since 1928, has developed more than 80 years, from the initial religious political organization to the largest political opposition in the history of Egypt, moreover, in fact, it has already transformed from an organization to a political party with political appeal and strength, a complete organizational structure, and also has accumulated a broad mass base with long-term social presence in Egypt.In the process of being the political party, Muslim Brotherhood has not changed its mind of establishing"a truly Islamic state," but with domestic pressures and changing international situation, the guiding ideology and the struggles of Muslim Brotherhood have changed, to be actively involved into democratization process in Egypt, by peaceful parliamentary struggle and legitimate means to achieve the ultimate goal. But since 1954, the Muslim Brotherhood was illegal. Until March 28, 2011, the new political party law of Egypt became effective, which makes the long-banned Muslim Brotherhood gained legal status. The lifting of ban on political party, coupled with the formation of new political party in May, indicates that the power of the Muslim Brotherhood can not be ignored the post-Mubarak era. It also brings variable to the forthcoming parliamentary election.This article explores the party political process of the Muslim Brotherhood. As the indicator of participating the parliamentary elections, the article analyzes the main causes and political performances of Muslim Brotherhood during the Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak three governments. Finally, based on changes of the Muslim Brotherhood in the early 2011 Egyptian parliamentary election, it illustrates that the evolution of religious and political organizations to political parties, need to keep with the times.
