In recent years, due to the population explosion and the expansion of farm land continuing to shrink, genetically modified foods have been attracted more and more public's attention. There are great acknowledge differences exists each uniform world, in which how transgenic biotechnology would affect human and ecological environment. From the installed cereal boxes, to the piece of chewing gum, all of the goods were attached to labels with magnanimity information that served as our daily diet. Therefore, genetically modified food labeling system nowadays time receives controversy. The compulsory label system's call is getting higher and higher, people's right to know and genetically modified foods have the risk which the possibility are its theoretical foundation. However, U.S. opposition genetically modified foods compulsory labeling system's viewpoint also have its market, and now I attempts to focus on statements about why the United States, some scholars hold this viewpoint, what their theoretical foundation in the end? This article will give the revelation.This paper studies the U.S. genetically modified foods labeling system's reason in the first part, and then proposes the core subject:Why the United States not to implement the compulsory labeling to genetically modified food? Afterward the author reveals the purpose and significance of this paper, let us from the deep level even more understand the U.S. does the reason, and what inspiration to our country. The second part briefly outlines the historical background of genetically modified foods labeling system controversy, and then from the positive and negative view the author talk about genetic engineering would bring the benefits, but then, also mention the feeling of fears widespread existing consumers. The third section provides a brief analysis on the political and economic reasons that prompt U.S. genetically modified foods were carried out. The fourth part from legal point of view, elaborated in detail the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug Administration three administrative department standard genetically modified food refers to the law as well as the law are authorized function; at the end of this part, the author introduce there are two key advantages lies in the U.S.GM food labeling system:first, voluntary labeling system, second, before going on the market should be take compulsory notification procedures. The fifth part elaborated in the United State, the compulsory labeling system faces the force came from Constitution as well as in other laws -Constitution about the right to know stipulation, the interstate trade freedom as well as the priority were apply to Federal Laws. The fourth part and the fifth are legal reasons. At the last part, author made reconsidered on the U.S. genetically modified food labeling system, from three aspects, including the human health, environment and economy.
