From the perspective of consumer's right to know,this paper respectively introduces the labeling of genetically modified food(“GMF”)in E.U.and U.S.,E.U.adopts mandatory labeling which means to protect consumer's right to know while U.S.adopts voluntary labeling which put the “material difference” prior to consumer's right to know.This paper also analyses whether consumer's right to know could serve as the sole foundation for mandatory labeling and explores the possibility for U.S.to improve the status of consumer's right to know.At last,this paper summarizes the reasons for the different labeling systems in E.U.and U.S.,and explains the problems of the GMF labeling system in our country.Through absorbing the merits of GMF labeling system in both E.U.and U.S.,this paper provides advices for the GMF labeling in our country.Through the analysis and discussion above,this paper expects to bring some reference to the GMF labeling legislation in our country. |
