Elite And Village Development

In recent years, academic circles research on China's rural elite, has become a central issue of rural research field. But, scholars focus on elite classification and rights of the elite sources. Among the many research results, all the macro level research, the relationship between the elite and the village development project in-depth study in the micro level. Different elite active in different space and time, have different rights, so, they are played a different role in development of the village. Because of this specificity, this study suggests that the need for in-depth study of different times and different types of elite and their role in the development process in the village .This paper is a case study by the xi gou Village in pingshun County, Shanxi Province, depth description of methods used to study selected case. Through the analysis of events to explore the village elite role in development and impact, and limitations in the village's. Provided that the nature of the village, elites play a role in the development of villages, therefore, the history of the case and now the situation is the basis for this study. The survey found, the village has three types of elites: political elites, economic elites, social elite. Initial stage of development in the village, these people are model workers, both can be grouped into the political elite and economic elite who can be classified. Since the reform and opening up, new elite began to work in the village and Play a major role in village development. Economic elite and social elite plays a role in promoting governance. The old elite to push the development of the village to a certain height, glorious achievements become a history, but the village to the continuous development. New elite were not famous old elite, indispensable role in governance and construction of the village. The development of the village shows that the joint promotion of new and old elites. Concrete manifestation of this effect: Promote economic development in the village, promote the development of village democracy, to improve the village infrastructure.
