In face of the 21st century, East Asia is showing more and more the inevitable trend of integration, regional cooperation between members of East Asia has also made adequate progress. However, due to the great difference in terms of socio-economic development, political systems and religious cultures, the countries in East Asian, for quite a long time, could not reach the consensus on the specific cooperation mechanism of regional integration development in various areas and the role East Asia is going to play in international affairs. One of the most critical point is that, as a regional great core power, China and Japan, has not yet reached the consensus on historical problems, territorial disputes and security strategies. This has become the major obstacle disabling East Asia integration move onto deeper development. As a pioneer of regional integration, the EU integration experience of cooperation has proved that cultural identity plays a vital role in the achievement of a common consensus and cohesion among various members of the community, which is also the main driving force in pushing forward the development of regional integration. Historical experience of the EU has suggested us that the reason why China and Japan still bear great disputes on related issues, lies deeply on the fact that the two countries has long been in the lack of cultural identification. Therefore, a correct understanding of Japan's policy and attitude in the construction of East Asian integration in order to reach the Sino- Japan cultural identification on the issues of constructing an integrated East Asia has become an important task. With the help of constructivism theoretical analysis on cultural identity and on the basis of inducting and concluding the theories and practice from the perspective of Japan's East Asian Integration, this paper makes tentative conclusion that the construction of East Asia identification, especially cultural identification between China and Japan, is under an urgent call and in the meantime trying to figure out specific solutions for the problem.
