And one of the remarkable matter is the issue which provides spirit for the aged,In recent years, both China's population is rapidly aging and the background of urban single-child family present plentiful , the problem of spiritual support become particularly outstanding.The spiritual support of elderly people is further cause general concern of the academic circles.The required piousness for the aged is more than in materially,what's more important is respect and care for elderly people in mentally .To some extent, the spiritual support is extremely important desired which can further reflect the connotation and true essence of piousness and meet the requirement of aged at the same time.Support is given for the elderly from the whole society, but due to the elderly in different levels of economic status, psychological characteristics, family environment, it varies in relating with the strength and content of their needs, so do the problems occurred in the spirit of comfort. For different elderly groups in the community, support given should be strong and rich, while spiritual support for knowledge-based older people is particularly especial, which is characterized by their feature.The aged intellectuals is mostly not only enjoy good health but also gain content generally in material life,so they need more mental support than the others.But the mental support for aged intellectuals in the current retirement system of our country is not enough far and away .Therefore, how to better address their spiritual support in order to make them well-being and peaceful in old age becomes a challenge.The purpose of the article is to find out the crucial reason for the spiritual support problem of out country and put forward the feasible proposal which provides some help to solve the spirite support problem according to the deeply systematic research of the above-mentioned group,Thus,it also can provide a kind of thinking to work out the spiritual support problem of the olderagegroups in our country .Furthermore, the discuss of the mental support is the necessary prerequisite to perfect the retirement pension system,only by this does the more reasonable view can be provided for the perfection of the retirement pension system.In the first place, by means of the scan and review of the document which is about the pension security and spiritual wellness, it defines knowledge-based older people and studies the role the elderly play and its status,This paper makes analysis of demand difference between the knowledge-based older people and non-knowledge-based older people ,Thus it comes to the significance of spiritual support for the elderly. Next, this paper describes the way and meaning of spiritual support and the relation and distinction between physical endowment spiritual endowment,Also,I realize the rationale of mental support through the Maslow's hierarchy of needs,ERG theory and combining the traditional culture of our country.Above all ,combining the characteristic of elderly people,it more mades clear the necessity of spiritual support.
