With the continuous increase of China’s aging and elderly population,China has gradually entered an "aging" society, and the disabled elderly people occupy a large proportion.According to the data shown in the "Sampling Results of the Fourth China Urban and Rural Elderly Living Conditions" published by the National Office for Ageing in 2016,the number of disabled and semi-disabled elderly populations in China has reached 40.63 million, accounting for the entire elderly. The proportion of the population is 18.3%,close to 20%.Today,with the rapid development of the economy and the increasingly rich material life, how to further meet the spiritual needs of the disabled elderly and improve their quality of life on the basis of meeting the basic needs of the disabled elderly,so that they can safely solve their old age is an urgent need to solve The problem.Based on this, the author takes the disabled elderly in the Department of Orthopedics of Wuhan G Hospital as the research object, and understands the spiritual consolation of the disabled elderly as the satisfaction of the spiritual needs of the disabled elderly, and refines the spiritual needs into safe needs and consciously. There are five aspects of demand, acceptance, communication, and self-realization.After conducting structural interviews and participatory observations on the 10 disabled seniors in the G hospital, the author comprehensively and objectively understands the mental comfort of the disabled elderly, and finds that the mental comfort of the disabled elderly people is different in degree, and The reasons for this situation were analyzed. The author uses a representative case to illustrate how social workers use rational emotional therapy to provide case services to disabled seniors, solve the dilemma of the client’s spiritual needs, and help the client find effective ways and means to obtain spiritual comfort.Through summing up and reflecting on the case, the author finds that it is not enough to rely on the social workers to meet the spiritual needs of the disabled elderly in the hospital. It is necessary to mobilize the support of the entire social force, including the government,Formal social support from families, hospitals and social workers, including informal social support from relatives and friends.
